Accessible Clothing

(1st Semester Junior Year)

As a group we had to create an outfit that is accessible for a wheelchair user and would fit with the customers desires. I was in charge of creating the top. It is meant to be a comfortable but stylish top, where the back is open to avoid bunching of the fabric against the chair, as we found this to be a common struggle for wheelchair users. However, the mesh undershirt is to prevent burning and rubbing against the chair. I kept the top as a long sleeve because they also reported getting cold as there is not much physical movement.
