Kimono

(1st Semester Junior Year)

For this project, we had to create a Kimono using the pattern given to the entire class, but using textile manipulations we had to manipulate the fabric in any way that we wanted. For my Kimono I wanted to be creative but use traditional inspiration to honor those who wear Kimonos. I did this by looking into why people use them, what the meaning behind them is and what techniques and colors may be used within them.
