don’t know why I don’t share the party shots, they turn out to be some of the most memorable ones ⚡️🌿 // this is level 10 wasted in Thailand 🤘🏼😛 probs one of my favorite portraits I’ve ever shot. Have a good day now! ☀️ Places and people that make you feel ALIVE Going into business by yourself, you are putting yourself out there all you. . There’s no “manager” to reach out to, no HR that is gonna have your back. . It’s your name and your reputation all on display. . You gotta have your own back and know your worth. . Even when you are doing your best, you are still going to F it up. You will make mistakes, you will say the wrong thing, you will feel defeated and like you want to quit. . Very rarely have I had mishaps with clients and when I do, it freaking sucks. You must take accountability for your actions and learn those lessons the hard way. . However, it is all temporary. Give yourself grace and know that it’s all part of the process. ☀️ I work a 9/5. I am not a full time photographer. And I am so much happier now. My work is better than its ever been and I get to choose what I want for my life based on high self worth rather than low self worth aka desperation. • I cold turkey quit school. Quit the job I had. Thought I would just “figure it out” while freelancing without any kind of savings nor understanding of how to run a photography business. My skill level was definitely there but my business skills were lacking. • I was buying into the idea that I had to go live my dream no matter what. Not taking into account that I would be stressed because I wasn’t able to meet my basic necessities. Such as a roof over my head and food. Which in turn made me make a lot of unhealthy decisions with my life because it all came from a place of desperation. • Take it from me, you don’t have to hate your 9/5. You can transition into your “dream” if you do it right. Save your monies, find mentors, educate yourself, and know yourself to know what you require to be okay. Mental health first, everything else will follow. Hello. It’s me. The me that is known for having “honest” opinions. Or as I like to call them, truth bombs. The me that gets really scared that she will upset those around her or be looked at as a bitch for being “too honest.” Or scared that if she is too honest, she will be left. I’m not so sure why I am so obsessed with the truth but experience has taught me that sometimes not all of the “truth” needs to be said. Workin’ on it. ⚡️ this photo never gets old. // this venue was so perfect in every corner. We took some time away from the reception and this was before the “shot.” Turned out perfect ⚡️ These angel faces were a hipster photographer’s dreams. ☀️🌙 #sedonawedding #sedona things that make me feel like I have my life together: waking up at 6:00am. 🌙 Been noticing I’ve been spending a lot of time on this app...and my phone altogether. 🤔 The majority of time it is spent looking outwards rather than showing my work. Note to self: get it together ⚡️⚡️ switching gears from weddings to a more mellow season of family photos. I asked @heathercrock if I could come over and just hang. To not have this pressure of how things “should” turn out. If there’s something that I’ve learned lately is that a session is more than showing up and taking photos. Take the time to truly learn about your clients, their story. I don’t even like to call them clients but friends I’m getting to know. I love connecting and I feel so lucky they let me in. 🖤 details are so fun to shoot. that’s all. we woke up at 5am for this light. So worth it. probably one of my favorite photos from the @alpinenorthwest workshop. // allowing people to be, being more clever with direction in a way that doesn’t take away from who they are. 🌲 Holy Hannah, I have been staring at a computer screen for too long in my lil apartment that I will start seeing square soon. . I wrote a “what I want my bride to know” post to give you bebbes some guidance. . You probs haven’t been married before (k maybe you have) and your girl has been through this one to many times that I want to ease the day for yah. .
